Confused leadership identity

Two tales of Filipino leadership happens at the same time. One, a display of Filipino ingenuity in Mercedez-Benz.

Subtle takeover of leadership

In other words, education disguised as generosity became a subtle tool for yet another invasion.

The leader in beauty and brain

The Philippines is home to natural beauty. And we need not change that. We are naturally beautiful inside and out. Yet, we often feel lacking. Thus, ungrateful. We feel we're not enough. Then, we find ourselves wanting for more.

The Cession of the Philippines to the US

In 2018, the Philippines marked the 120th anniversary of the Treaty of Paris, the which the Spain ceded the Philippines to the US for $20M.

Apply our leadership philosophy

Stepback is a practice of putting the people at the center of leadership. This is the original leadership art of ancient Filipinos that built the world-famous Ifugao Rice Terraces. Leaders who subscribe to this concept rejects the western leadership and management ideology.

What Stepback is

Stepback is a culture transformation company. We work with leadership teams to rebuild their organizational culture.

What we offer

First, we offer a 90-minute Keynote Speech on Leadership. Second, we organize a two-day Leadership Expedition in Banaue Rice Terraces. Third, we are retained as consultants to implement Stepback Management System across the organization.

Who our clients are

We have spoken to multi-national companies and national associations. In addition, we have consulted to corporations on a consistent, regular basis. Check out the partial client list in the Philippines.

Why Stepback?

Stepback is the 2,000-year-old original leadership art of Filipinos. We hope to bring this lost art back to organizations. We believe that this can solve the modern challenges in leading and managing people even in our time.

What makes us think Stepback works

The effect of colonization of Spain, US, and Japanese left us with forgotten identity. We no longer know who we are as leaders. We use Western leadership and management concepts in our organization. Yet, we have our own unique leadership structure prior to Spanish invasion in 1521. In fact, this leadership structure built the popular Ifugao Rice Terraces. If we made it in the ancient times, we can make it today. We hope to introduce to your people how great we were back then. To regain this greatness is to assure greatness of your organization.

Using his in-depth study of the building of the 2,000-year-old Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, which has been named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lloyd believes that great leaders are shaped and defined by three crucial steps they make for their people: (1) stepping in educate them; (2) stepping back to delegate to them; and (3) stepping up to grow with them.

His discovery has been the cornerstone of organizational leadership programs in the areas of management, sales and marketing, business development, and innovation and change.

Lloyd is the president of LLOYDLUNA Communications, the parent company of Stepback, Umbrella Motivational Speakers, Scroll Publishing, Skybell Clothing, and Peaches Music.

Lloyd has been a resource speaker in over 1,000 conventions, conferences, and seminars, has appeared in over 200 media interviews, and has spoken on leadership to personnel of several major global companies worldwide, to key managers and staff of Philippine government agencies, and to students and faculty of various schools in Asia.
